Erasmus+ KA 229

 Healthy Eating and Active Living at Habitation (H.E.A.L.T.H) is a project funded by Erasmus+ European Commission and is currently being implemented by schools of five countries - Poland, Turkey, Portugal, Spain and Romania

The main aim is to promote healthy living and help to limit the numbers of students dropping out of school due to physical/health problems.

Objectives:

  • Raise awareness among students to become healthier and more active individuals;

  • Reduce the dependency of fast and frozen food;

  • Develop awareness among teachers and parents about raising healthy individuals.

"Nothing looks as good as healthy feels"

Young people all over Europe eat lots of fast food due to the inordinate use of technological devices, thus increasing the tendency to become unfit, obese and in poor health. The global prevalence of childhood and adolescent obesity is high.

Lifestyle changes towards a healthy diet,
increased physical activity and reduced sedentary activities are recommended to prevent and treat obesity. Evidence suggests that changing
these health behaviors can benefit cognitive function and school achievement in children and adolescents in general.

We believe that healthy lifestyle will develop parents and teachers’ cooperation and reach to students significantly.

Aims

With this project, students will do creative workshop activities, prepare brochures and distribute them to the public and school community, prepare shows about nutrition and lots of other activities to promote consciousness on health life-style.

Some of the expected outcomes for this project are:

  • Enhance life long learning skills

  • Ensure that children understand that they come from different countries and cultures

  • Increase our students’ science skills and performance

  • Create awareness about the effects of malnutrition

  • Help them to have awareness to make healthy choices on food

  • Boost ICT and language skills

  • Improve healthy-active life philosophy on our students

  • Prevent early school leaving
